Take a look at this old article in the LA Times, when Ms. Slater-Gilbert was still teaching at 24th Street School, LAUSD, and where she had the honor to help found the GardenSchool Foundation. A dream was shared by Ms. Slater-Gilbert with her Principal, Grace Yoon, several teachers on the Garden Committee, and an LA Times writer, Emily Green. The dream became a reality. Good things can happen when you really put your heart, mind, soul, and intelligence to the effort!
Let's hope that the GardenSchool Foundation can work the same miracle at Nora Sterry Elementary School!
